Under the impetus of the national "Standards Going Global" strategy, the export market for Chinese cast manhole covers has continued to expand. In 2024, the export value increased by 14.3% year-on-year. More than 30 countries along the Belt and Road, including Vietnam and Pakistan, have officially adopted the GB/T 23858 series of standards, reducing the export certification costs for domestic enterprises by 35% to 50%. Although the markets in Europe, America, and Japan still face strict certification systems such as EN 124 and ASTM A536, with compliance costs accounting for 18% to 25% of the Ex-works (EXW) price, enterprises with multiple country certifications can achieve a gross profit margin of 16.8%, significantly higher than the industry average. In the future, as underground infrastructure investment accelerates in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other regions, the export potential of high-load ductile iron manhole covers will be further unlocked.
